Baby Easton has Arrived

On June 11th, 2011 my beautiful sister and her husband, Bobby had their first child. Easton James Light was born at 11:58pm and is perfectly healthy. He is the first boy in our family in 40 years!

Sherri is doing well and loving being a mom already. Sleep deprived and all she is so happy. No pictures of her though because she did not allow that, lol! I was so drugged after having Emmalyn that I let everyone in their momma take a picture of me...I definitely regret it now!!! But, we are so blessed to have the new editions of Bobby and Easton in our family! Life couldn't get any better for the Jones girls...well maybe Tiffany who was upset about missing his birth. She is doing well in Afghanistan by the way!

Emmalyn and I didn't make it for the birth since it happened so quickly on that Saturday night(6 hours, from start to finish)! So, we got up and left Birmingham around 6am that morning to head to the hospital in Dothan, AL. I was worried about Emmalyn getting jealous but she wasn't! She "tried" to walk around that room like she owned it. The only time she got upset was when my mom, her gramie, was holding him.

However, with Sherri being hopped up on drugs she took Emmalyn up her bed and played with her. So since Em was still in the center of the room with everyone looking at Sherri she was content.

I can't figure out what the deal is when one person has a baby it complies everyone to ask me when my next one is coming. I loved holding my sweet nephew but am in NO hurry to have another at this time. Newsflash***Emmalyn is enough to handle for now! She keeps me on my toes at all time.

Before we left, Em discovered that if she loved on Easton and gave him kisses everyone would cheer and clap. My child has to be the biggest attention hog- I'm not sure where she got it:)

Congratulations to the Light family. We are so excited about our first boy and now getting to be an Aunt just takes the cake!!! At times like these we discover how God works in mysterious ways. He has plan for everyone even though we don't understand at times. I love you my baby Easton and I can't wait to watch you grow!

Summer Day Extras

Emmalyn loves the water...here she is at the lake (at top) and chillin on the beach

Lounging around at the lake...taking it easy!

Playing in the pool with daddy, and yes she owns plenty of bathing suits; however, she prefers them off most of the time. You can tell summer is definitely going to be her favorite time of year!!! These pictures where taken the weekend after Wilkins birthday...so probably the last weekend in May. She is getting so Big!!!

Birthday in Gatlinburg

Wilkins birthday arrived in May so I decided to take him to Gatilinburg for a long weekend! We had so much fun with the aquarium, site seeing and Cade's Cove! Emmalyn did so good too. As you can see her daddy had to rock the baby carrier all weekend- and let me tell you we love it!!! She did too apparently, cause she would be happy and dancing in it one minute then passed out asleep for the next.

My husband is now 33 years old and this was his first real trip to Gatlinburg. Cause no one does Gatlinburg, TN, like me. Seeming how I went so much during high school and college I knew every great shopping store (which W wasn't a fan of) and the great eats!

We got there really late on Friday so we just went to bed, which I wasn't happy about! But in Heine sight now was a great thing because we wore ourselves out on Saturday. We tried to fit everything in- like the aquarium, the shopping, the museums, and food! We got lucky because we hit it at the right weekend with the annual Arts and Crafts festival there that day too. So there was plenty of mountain music and lifestyle shows to accommodate.

On Sunday, we went hunting (searching) at the National Park for a black bear. Let me tell you that we did not plan on leaving till we saw one. Six hours later in Cade's Cove and no black bear to be seen we ended up heading home disappointed. However, Cade's Cove was so unique and interesting.

I love history stuff and so does Wilkins, so, seeing these historic homes that have been there since the 1800's and how they lived way out like that was fascinating. No neighbors, grocery stores, phones, or TV...is crazy to imagine. We would all probably have a melt down if we had to do that these days!!!

The picture below is a wheat mill that still operates today. They make tons of cornbread, wheat, and more in bags to raise money for the Cove. Isn't it just gorge...

This picture is of me and Emmalyn at the aquarium. I don't know who had more fun me or her! She loved being somewhere new and having so much to do too.

I love Gatlinburg and I hope that my family will too. Wilkins said it was "fun and okay for a weekend" in other terms, not coming back for a little while. However, my family has rented a cabin during the holidays that we will be attending for a whole week, lol!!! He thinks I'm crazy about the mountains wait till he sees my whole family in Gatilinburg!!!
