Birthdays and Weddings

Hey everyone- I am 25 years old today, can you believe it cause I can't. I feel so much older these days. I guess being a parent makes you feel that way. Maybe that's why you start getting gray hair so much earlier. I hope that doesn't happen to me for awhile!!! Anyways, I have had a great weekend. Well it didn't start off to well. My grandparents planned on keeping Emmalyn for us on Saturday night so that Wilkins and I could go out and celebrate. However, when I woke up that morning I had the stomach bug. Every time I moved I got sick- it was terrible. I haven't been sick in awhile so I was proud of myself- or WAS proud! I spent the whole day in bed while Wilkins watched Emmalyn. Sunday morning I felt a little better so we went into Homewood for brunch at Jackson's Bistro. It was so good- but my stomach was so not ready! After that we came home to recoup! I know Wilkins was disappointed that we couldn't do much... so being the sweet man he is he grilled steaks and wined and dined me on the couch!!! It turned out to be a great night. He and Emmalyn gave me the new Kindle. I love it:)
So this is the super cute Alabama outfit that Lindsey and Brandon gave Emmalyn. Isn't she just adorable with that no smile, lol! Oh by the way Lindsey, you guys were very sneaky with the already being married a year before your wedding on Saturday, I loved it!!! Congratulations on one year of marriage!!!
Emmalyn turns 6 months tomorrow and that is even more astonishing to me. I feel like I just had her...crazy how quick it goes. We take her to the doctor next week for a check-up and another round of shots- how fun:( So today was the first day that she did something on her own. I was laying her down for a nap (she was passed out) and when I moved my hand her pacifier feel out so she lifts her head up and looks for the pacifier pops it in and goes back to sleep..you would have thought I won the lottery. I think it was her birthday present to me. I don't know why that is so exciting but I was jumping up and down! The little things in life are the best, I understand that saying now!

Megan and Lee got married last weekend. The rehearsal dinner was at Satterfields, which was some great food, but Emmalyn was not a happy baby. Her bedtime is at 7:00 and the dinner started at 7:00. So needless to say she was exhausted and mad at me for making her stay up. She retaliated by screaming most of the dinner. Good thing we have such a great family and everyone was understanding and smiled (or attempted too). Also Megan's brother's kids where there too, one is 4 weeks, so that helped. She finally passed out half way through and we made a palate in the corner of the restaurant. Saturday was about the same story. We had to be at the chapel by 3:00 for pictures. Apparently all that posing made a restless baby who decided to act out as soon as the "I Do's" began at 5:00. Leaving me to run out of the chapel in tears too. Welcome to motherhood I hear!!! The reception was nice and Emmalyn was happy to go home early with her Mimi and Go-Daddy! What a weekend...but Congratulations to Lee and Megan, who are coming back from their honeymoon in Antigua. Here is the happy couple from the rehearsal dinner receiving their toasts from the family.

I snapped this picture of Wilkins and Van at the beginning of the ceremony. As I was taking the picture someone told me there was no picture taking allowed...oops...im an outlaw bandit:) Wilkins has this big smile on his face because he is proud of Emmalyn for being good and playing with her toys on my lap...only if we had know, lol!

Hope the week goes well. Love to everyone. Can't wait to show you pictures of Emmalyn in her Halloween costume next week!!!

5 months and Counting

So its finally college football time!!! We have been waiting all year for this and now we have Emmalyn to join in. Unfortunately, I think she is turning into what I feared- an Auburn fan! She is in love with them and I'm not sure why! Whenever they play she can't take her eyes of the screen then when the real football game starts, ALABAMA, she doesn't seem that interested. It is driving me crazy and Wilkins is loving it. He bought her this really cute Auburn dress and then some shorts (that she has on in the picture). So I guess she will come around eventually. Lindsey and Brandon have come through for me though. Yesterday I received the cutest Alabama pillow outfit from them...I can't wait for her to put that on for game day. So putting a picture of it up this week. You guys are the best...love you and congrats on the wedding this weekend (Oct. 9th).
Speaking of weddings, Lee's is coming up this weekend too. So we will have such a busy week getting ready for family and friends coming into town! Gotta find something to wear for E cause she can't dress like this;)

Isn't that butty the cutest. Anyways, we really haven't been doing much! Just spending time together on the weekends and working during the week! Tiffany's graduation from basic training was this week in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Webb family did not make it this time due to Emmalyn being a little too young for the airplane and quiet ceremony. However, Tiffany surprised everyone by being an Honor Grad which is only given out to 3 people out of 500! So, we will be going to her AIT graduation in December! We are so excited it is in Colombia, SC, and since we have not had a vacation this year we are going to make a whole trip out of it. I believe we are going to Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head and of course Colombia! It will be are first real vacation (with just the three of us) as a family!
It is hard to believe Emmalyn is 5 months now. It seems as if she has been here all along. I barely remember life before her and it seems so insignificant now. Anyways, she is really starting to fill out and her hair is growing. It looks red in pictures but it is kind of a sandy brown! She is grabbing for everything now and very alert for her age (from what I hear- I don't know)! In this picture, Wilkins and I was snacking on some Guacamole and she was getting aggravated at not getting any attention, so she took the chip bag and stuck her head in it to see what the fuss was all about I guess, lol! Then gave us this look like oh please, I am way better!

So, Wilkins reminded me earlier in the week that my birthday is coming up! I have always loved birthdays but turning 25 reminds me that I am not getting any younger! I hope I don't start getting wrinkles now, I am just not ready for any of that. I think this year instead of celebrating I might just do something fun for E, unless it is a massage- haha! I have been wanting to take her to the McWane Science Center. It is supposed to be really fun for babies too and it looks so cool! I'm not sure what is in it but I guess we will find out:) Birthdays are just not that big of a deal anymore when their is something greater in life for you- I have the best husband and baby, what more could I ask for!!!

This picture was taken before Emmalyn and I went to a good friend of mine, Mandy's baby shower on Sunday. Looking at this picture makes me just adore having a girl! I wanted a boy so bad while I was pregnant and was hurt a little when I found out it was a girl. However, God knew what he was doing because she has been so amazing. I love having a girl to spend all my time with. It is fun thinking of the shopping trips we are going to have or the chick flicks that I can watch with her -since no man likes them- or spending time doing whatever when hunting season starts!!! There is truly always a reason for everything:)

I was trying to get E to smile and wave in this picture but she is done smiling for any camera. Thanks mom and grandma:) So I hope everyone has a goodnight and week! I love you all.

Update

Hey everyone...hope all is well. Not much going on with the Webb family, just always on the go! This is a picture of our friends children Joesph "JoJo"(4) and Mary Laine(1) with Emmalyn. These are her best friends and she adores them. It is so cute when they are together because they absolutely love doing everything with her. This picture was taken on Saturday night during the Alabama vs. Penn football game when they thought no one was looking. JoJo always wants to play with Emlyn (as he calls her) and not do anything else and Mary Laine thinks she is one her baby dolls! We all had just gotten back from Atlanta where we took the kids to the Cardinals and Braves game on Friday. Emmalyn was so good all weekend. She watched the game on Friday like she really knew what was going on. However, the Cardinals lost and we were all devastated because that is our team- but it was fun for us and the kids! On Saturday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium were we pushed her in the stroller and she stared at every fish and just smiled the whole time. It was so cute! We couldn't make it down any isles without someone stopping us and wanting to tell us how sweet and pretty she was..and super alert!!! I think men get a kick out of telling me that because she is so aware it means she is going to be very nosey. I just refuse to believe that...she is just going to be very smart ; ). We had the best time and I definitely want to go to more aquariums now! On Sunday, it was JoJo's 4th birthday party at the park. It was so fun to watch all the kids get a kick out of Emmalyn talking to them. JoJo didn't want to go play with any of the 15 kids that came unless E could go too! He even refused to open presents unless she watched, I think Emmalyn already has a boyfriend...a cute one at that!!!

So, please let me tell you about the crazy weekends before that. Emmalyn had her 4 month check-up on August 27 where she got four more shots and prevention medicine. This time she got a high fever and was fussy for the remainder of the weekend. But she weighs 12 pounds now and is 24 inches long. She is in the 25 percentile for her weight and 75 percentile for her length. So in theory they say she is going to be long and lean...and that works for me! After her appointment we went straight down to Mobile because my best friend Lindsey is getting married and one of her showers was on Saturday morning. However, I found out that it is not smart to travel when your baby has just received shots because they cry the entire 4 hour drive and you have to stop constantly and it becomes a 6 hour drive! So we get to Mobile later than planned on Friday night. Go straight to the mall to meet Sherri and my parents. We get dinner and shop which makes Emmalyn not happy. When she finally goes to bed she looks at me like you are going to pay for this, lol. So, we get up early Saturday morning to go to Spot of Tea for the shower. Emmalyn is great and is passed around by everyone (she loves Lindsey)! The shower was so cute and alot of people came. It was great to see everyone since it has been awhile. We leave the shower to head straight to our lake house for a party..another 6 hour drive with the pay back...screaming and running another fever while it is pouring down rain! It was the longest weekend of my life but I wouldn't have missed either parties for the world- love you Lindsey! When we got home on Sunday I just collapsed with exhaustion. Emmalyn is back to good now and I am never doing that much driving in one weekend again.

Labor day weekend was so relaxing for a change. It was nice just to be with family and on the water with nothing to do. We went back to the lake house and just chilled. Emmalyn took her first boat ride ever with our friends Joesph and Dana. It was so funny how much she enjoyed it. She had worn her snooks that day and so did her daddy so I had to take a picture of how small her shoes were compared to his. She already looks like him so why not dress them alike- girly for her though :). I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as much as we did.
Emmalyn is still loving day school but it is alot on mommy to handle. Too many new things at once but it is the greatest joy watching her experience everything for the first time. Who knew that what used to be boring tasks are so amazing and fun now!

Thats It- I Have the Cutest Baby

Hey- I've got important news! I think I have the cutest baby on the planet, I am not being biast or anything:) She is so sweet and happy all of the time. I am so blessed and lucky to have her! So, I went on my Bachelorette party last weekend. This is a picture of me and the girls, Gene and Megan! We had a blast, just hung out on the beach and went out at night!!! Meanwhile, Emmalyn stayed with Gramie and Grandaddy. I dropped her off on Friday and had a mini panic attack and thought of her all weekend. I just couldn't believe that I could go out at night without having spit up on my dress or a bedtime to worry about. We both had such a good time too. I think that it is important to have that quality time apart even though it is so hard. Oh, and the boys had a great time too!

She did get her pictures taken while I was gone by Alisha Williams photography. They are so cute and sweet, I just wanted to eat her up in them. She is growing so fast! She turned four months old this week. Hard to believe; seems I just had her yesterday. Wilkins and I decided to celebrate by letting her try new things this weekend. Today she had her first taste of food other than formula. First, we tried peaches and her face turned completely sour. We realized that she wasn't a fan at all after she cried for 30 minutes. I called mom and she suggested Bananas. Emmy loved them and ate the entire container. It was so amazing watching her experience something new.
After she ate everything we went and bought one of those huge family pools where 8 people can fit. We put her super cute bathing suit on and tons of sunscreen (way too hot this summer). She absolutley loved swimming around in her floaty. She would push off the bottom of the pool and laugh! It was so adorable!!! I think she has found her new favorite thing other than bath time at night! However, I think all of the excitement of new things for the day wore on her as she passed out of exhaustion in the pool. So I woke her up and she gave me that sleepy smile, changed her into dry clothes and she took a four hour nap. Which gave Wilkins and I time to spend together cooking out and swimming in the pool because we hadn't spent anytime together due to his family coming into town for Grant's soccer game. Which was fun while they were here too but its nice having time for just the two of us since it is so rare and precious!!! Had the best weekend!

Emmalyn goes to the doctor Friday and I am so excited to see how big she has actually grown in two months. After her appointment, E and I are heading to Mobile because we have Lindsey's shower Saturday morning. Can't wait to see everyone. It has been a long time and I love every opportunity to show my baby off:) I hope everyone is doing well. Love you all!

Just Some Extra Pictures

Emmalyn is 3 Months

Hey- hope everyone is doing good. It is alot harder to update this blog the older Emmalyn gets. She stays up most of the day and when she does take a nap I'm either doing laundry or cleaning the house! However, I'll take it since she sleeps through the night. She has been going to bed between 7-7:30pm and sleeps till 6:30am or so....I love it!
Although I thought that when she started this schedule Wilkins and I would get to spend time together at night, but by the time she gets asleep we are so exhausted that we pass out:) Anyways, we have been staying busy. This picture of Wilkins and I is from Tiffany's going away weekend. We all went jet skiing at Weeks Bay and had the best day...Gramie and Grandaddy watched Emmalyn. That night we went to Ruth Cris and had so much fun with everyone- you realize how much your family means to you when one of them is leaving. Tiffany has been gone 2 weeks and I already miss her! I know she is going to do great at boot camp though!
We came back Sunday and on Monday was Emmalyn's 3 month birthday. So of course I baked her a cake and took pictures of her with it...I let her taste the icing, she is not a big fan of cream cheese yet! This next picture is her helping me in the kitchen and by the way I love the bumbo (her purple seat)- I recommend it to all new moms!
These past couple weeks have been amazing watching her grow so fast. We still haven't been to the doctor to see how much she weighs but she is getting big- we are guessing 10 1/2 pounds maybe? We measured her this week and she was 22 inches long, she has grown one inch a month so far!!! Her newest achievement has been that she is teething. I didn't even know until my grandparents and friends told me. It is rough never knowing what is going on with your own child. But she is handling it well, a little fussy at times but she gets by with gnawing on her hands. Any suggestions on how to make this process any better for her other than drugging her with Tylenol???
So this upcoming weekend is going to be my first time leaving her for longer than a couple of hours. I am going to the beach for a bacholerette party (Megan's- my future sister-in-law). It is in Orange Beach which is not to far from my parents, where she will be staying, but I am still nervous for my own sanity cause I am going to be hopeless having nothing to do. I know my parents are thrilled though...they have already planned the whole weekend! So everyone wish me luck that I won't call 900 times or start crying that I miss her:)
The boys are going away too, but to the cabin in North Carolina. They are going to go rafting at the Ocoee and do whatever it is that 15 guys with no wives or children do! It should be interesting to see how many times Wilkins calls to check in on her- cause I know he will!

Well Emmalyn is still not turning over yet but when she does ya'll will be the first to know. I promise I am going to update more often- I think I have the time to do this once a week, but we'll see:) Love ya'll and hope you have a good week!
